THOMAS WINTER has been involved in piano restoration for thirty
years.
Recently his work has been profoundly influenced by the ideas of John Watson, Conservator of Instruments at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. He embraces the principles of Restorative Conservation - returning an instrument to playing condition while preserving its integrity as a historical document.
Each restoration is fully documented with a Condition Report made upon receipt of the instrument and a Restoration Report documenting each phase of the work.
